ADDICTED TO MUSIC | ||
| I made this page specificly for obsessive freaks, those who would go to extreme actions because of music. Other type of people may not get this. | |||
When I talk about obsessions, I cannot leave out Pearl Jam, my favourite band since years ago.... I go back with them sinc e my years of depression started, that's when I discovered them and saw that I was not alone in the things that I believed. I've met many people that, like I, have found "salvation" in their music... those times when you feel overloaded with pain and just want to end it all...times when you look over and there's a CD, you play it, and you find release. Capable of making explode any type of feeling inside you with just one verse...just one phrase from Eddie Vedder's lyrics is all I need to explain a whole g alaxy inside of me. |

"I'll ride the wave where it takes me, I'll hold the pain...Release me..."

While I'm talking about inner explotions I must menti on deftones, with their harsh, sometimes malevolous cords, mixed with intense melodies and lyrics capable of torturing anyone either with pain or pleasure... songs that are like medicine to release your inner sickness... or awaken all your anxiety and lus t in a way that results as therapy.
In every generation there have always been bands who cry for love, scream with pain, show rebelion... between all that, there have always been bands who protest, protest for their rights, for the poor, for animals, for youth... whatever. But I believe that the purest, most valuable exaple of all these bands lives this generation, Rage Against The Machine... whith lyrics that can make even the careles s scream with anger or grief, lyrics that show us in the ultimate way all about our society, all about the abuses people for generations have had to put up with... lyrics that make you wanna get up and finally do something about all this, saying "Anger is a gift", and "justice has not been done".

Another band who is well described with pain, grief, or rejectment is Korn... probably the biggest source of "salvation" in the middle and end of the 90's. A singer with a personality that we haven't seen since Pearl Jam or Nirvana. An original band with quality in every aspect of it's genere. A way to release all you r problems, all your fears, and finally feel understand. They make kids see, that if they're being opressed or abussed, they dont have to put up with it. A mix of hard core with sensible lyrics...other times filled with rage, but in any case with an inte nsity out of this world.
